The non-playable factions of Unknown Abyss are plentiful. Friend or foe, balance can not be achieved without all of them existing together.

The Garr: An alien race that is very unclear to their objectives. They are very secretive and are rarely seen and those unfortunate to encounter this race rarely survive the meeting. Encounters can be deadly but they might have something to do with the secret technology the mystics have found.

Mutants: Human like relatives of the former nations of earth. After the atmosphere began clearing, a lunarian expedition was sent to the planet and a violent swarm of mutants attacked the ships hijacking 2 and destroying 5 turrets near the moon before retreating back to Earth. They are larger, stronger, but not much smarter and have no unity on the planet, instead controlled by warlords. Only if they unite will they become a force to be watched. Presently there is a small detachment of Mystics watching over the planet for signs of ships entering space.

The Brotherhood: Highly dedicated group of ore miners that thrive in the asteroid belt. They are highly protective of their ore claims and will use whatever force necessary to protect their precious minerals. Due to their beliefs they will not sell the ore and will attempt to discourage anyone from mining the ores in their claim areas.

The Grey Council: This faction is the backbone of the lunarian society the Grey Council is a stable mix of Politicians, War Heroes, Scientists, Strategists, Mineral experts, and other important people in Lunarian society. This class is crucial to Lunarian development and infrastructure as without the Grey Council the country would be destroyed with a two-party political system that governs their country.

The Grey Council was formed after all communications with earth were ended to work a government through the extreme challenges forced upon them and for hundreds of years it has succeeded and improved the Lunarian Lifestyle and existence.

Because of the Grey Councils brave and very positive past it is rarely challenged by the populace and every year a selection process chooses from the populace the brightest and the most positive people who are admitted into the inner circle of the Lunarians Grey Council to help rewrite the laws and plan strategies to gain more resources and land. Nor the Titans or the Mystics have this form of faction leading them to success and mapping a way into the future.

Intergalactic Council: A council of all the friendly or neutral terran (a.k.a. human) groups. This council was formed after the threats of The Garr and mutants appeared as a growing threat. By making a Intergalactic council the many human factions have slowly initiated in a shaky truce with one another until the strength of the aliens and mutants is completely known. Each nation's greatest leaders meet usually monthly in an undisclosed location.

Black Death: Group of computer hackers against the government of the Lunarians known to terrorize Lunarian computers and ships causing massive damage and large death totals in the millions. By hacking into the Lunarian computers many times Luna City has been shut down and dangerously close to losing the Oxygen level to sustain life. Their location is unknown but their Black death computer virus' not only effect the city but ships can be rendered powerless under the hacking abilities of this small group. The black death is formed to try and keep lunarians in the black or in the dark by cutting off their power supplies but so far mainly unsuccessful.

The Forgotten (a.k.a. Crew): The forgotten is a group of believed to be lost pilots who were originally from the Nebula Expedition. These people only said to be a few thousand strong are made up of colonists on the expedition. When the Nebula Expedition found out Earth was at war many wanted to turn back but only after they lost communication people began acting on their thoughts. One of the large ships carrying humans to the other planets was led by Brian Barten the main captain who began changing the direction in which his ship was to head and began heading back to earth. Furious at his action the other captains gained entrance on his ship and captured him. They eventually mutinied on him and sent him and a few thousand followers with enough supplies to survive by themselves. Furious Brian and his followers left never to be seen again. They soon were forgotten about until recently when strange messages had been found declaring their resentment against the Mystics and that they were still alive and very close. Security in the Mystic nation has increased ten times and it has began building a military because of it. One ship had been recovered shortly after the message from a strong combat skilled warrior. He disappeared but the message on a piece of paper said "Remember the Forgotten"...

Sabaea Federation: This group of people known as the Sabaea have been living on the Mars since Earth became inhospitable to human life. After a short alliance with the Titan nation to help each other out there was a long occupation of the Sabaean’s homeland on Mars, after a few decades of the Martian Occupation three clans, The Dubani, Hesperia, and the Isidis all oppressed people being occupied by the Titans staged a revolt to gain back the land they worked hard to make livable for themselves. Slowly other smaller clans joined the Sabaea Federation and they slowly began their attempts to push the Titans off of the Martian soil. Quick in reacting the Titans moved their capital off of the hostile territory from the city Planatira to the space station Xanther City.

Shortly after moving the capital of the Titan Empire the Titans counterattacked The Sabaea Valley where the Sabaean’s had their capital. Although the Titans took heavy casualties The famous Sabaean Valley Battle was won by the Titans even though they lost around three times as many people as the Sabaean’s did. About a week later more Titan troops landed on the surface of mars and began to push the Sabaen’s back.

Out of shear desperation the Sabaen’s contacted the Lunarians the only faction untouched by the Titan Army and struck up a plan. If the Sabaea would give Mar’s two moons Deimos and Phobos to the Lunarians in turn the Lunarians would supply the Sabaean Army with all new equipment and food to last them years, as well as new ships to carry out the assault. Within six months of the agreement the Titans quickly began to decline on Mars as the new weapons versus the Titans older but still relatively new models put the Titans at a great disadvantage.

The Titans also began to spread their domain to encompass Uranus and Neptune as they warred with the Mystic nation. The Sabaean’s although holding their ground could not withstand the constant waves of Titan fighters and surely would collapse within a few years until something great happened. The Mystics prototype weapon the Sythin Beam was 100% effective wiping out over half of the brigade assaulting Pluto. The Titans immediately began focusing their militia towards the Mystics in hope of capturing this new weapon but their hope was dashed when the Mystics pushed them out of Neptune and ended their war.

Over the next few decades the war on mars continued but with the pride of the Titans stolen and roughly 30% of their army gone the Sabaea Federation gained control over Mars. Giving the Lunarians the moons ended their trade and peace was restored throughout the universe. Slowly the Sabaea Federation strengthened and became a top trading area due to its location between the asteroid belt/ upper sol with the lower sol regions. Ethnic conflicts on Mar’s have sparked due to an uneven control of the Sabaean Government being controlled by 60% Dubani, 20% Hysperia, and 20% Isidis. Most people believe that some of Dubani were elected illegally and should thrown out of the Government positions they hold but anything yet has been passed so conflicts and some small scale skirmishes have recently been tearing at the once solid Sabaean foundation.
